CLAY BODIES

These clay forms refer to organs from our bodies.

These original vessels, and containers used by early man now form works that contain psychic longings and connections between universal elements. They are often thought of as reliquaries to be used on special occasions for rituals.

HEART SUTRAS

These Ceramic hearts shaped pieces glazed with gold and red are made by hand and meant to be held and touched.

When touching the pieces you can feel the hand that created the work.
That hand touches yours.

Your hand touches the heart of the creator.
Your heart touches the heart of the maker.

We are connected through the object -- mind, body and spirit.

The title for these pieces "Heart Sutra" (Also called "Wisdom Heart") comes from Buddhist scripture and related scholarly texts. It refers to the profound union of compassion and wisdom.
